Anglo - Saxon Finds
Necklace Pendant
Gold necklace pendant, inlaid with a garnet. This pendant belongs to a group of necklace elements found in England, all made in similar style, which came into fashion in the 7th century, although the shape and cut of the stone is unusual. It may originally have been strung with other pendants on a high status necklace.
Found by a metal detectorist in south Staffordshire.
