Islamic Ceramics
The Islamic Ceramics collection at The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery is made up
of pieces which date from as early as the 9th century to the late 19th century.
Much of the collection originates from Middle Eastern countries such as Iran and Iraq but also contains some Turkish Iznik wares. These countries historically produced large quantities of ceramics and certain areas were famous for specific types of wares. The online collection has been divided into objects and tiles and is only a small selection taken from a much larger collection.
