Salt Kit

Salt kit. Trailed white slip decoration on a red body. Beneath the mouth is the inscription 'R. Parker / Clifton' in sgraffito cut through a white slip panel. Beneath that the date '1877' is trailed in white slip. This handsome piece was given to the Potteries Museum by Mr M. Schofield of the Weatheriggs Pottery.

Made at the Weatheriggs Pottery at Clifton, Cumbria, c. 1887. Height 292mm.
