Bamfords Valuation Days
Start digging out your antiques and valuables for a special Valuation Day at Gladstone Pottery Museum in Stoke -on -Trent on Friday 1 July, 5 August, 2 September, 7 October, 5 November from 2 - 4pm. A professional auctioneer from Bamfords in Derby will value your items for free. You can take as many pieces as you like for a verbal valuation and under no obligation. If you want to put something to auction, you can leave it there and get a receipt.
A spokesman for the auctioneers Bamfords says, “It’s always very interesting to go to Stoke on Trent, particularly to be on the look out for pottery. That’s because so many people worked in the local pottery industry or know someone who did. We’ve discovered all sorts of things, including other old items like pictures and jewellery.”
At the last Valuation Day at Etruria Industrial Museum a man from Newcastle-under-Lyme brought in a very rare Catholic bible dating from 1650. It was valued at between three and four thousand pounds and will go to auction in September. So you never know, you might be the person who brings in the next high-value antique.
