Plundering Pirates!
Ford Green Hall
11 Aug 10
Shiver me timbers, scrub the decks and hoist the Jolly Roger as Captain Zak Sparrow, long lost brother of Jack Sparrow, invades Ford Green Hall to recruit his pirate crew before he sets sail on the seven seas, or at least down the canal!
The main qualifications for a pirate are a good measure of maritime knowledge, a correct dress code with cutlass, skill at arms, the ability to read treasure maps and a good lusty voice to sing sea shanties. Do you possess these qualifications? No? Don't worry, the captain will teach you the dirty tricks of sword fighting and ensure you are ship shape and ready for adventure.
He will also take you on a Treasure Hunt in search of Davy Jones ’s locker and its legendary hoard of chocolate coins. Rumour has it that that this treasure was brought to Ford Green Hall by Blackbeard himself!
There will be some fun too with ship wreck games, face painting and a competition for the best dressed boy and girl pirate outfit and best overall costume. But be careful if you upset the Captain you may be forced to walk the plank!
This promises to be a fun filled afternoon for children of all ages and any adults who fancy themselves as the next swash buckling buccaneer. Be transported to the world of Long John Silver, Jack Sparrow and even Captain Pugwash!
This is a free outdoor event with normal admission price applying to the Hall. For more information contact Ford Green Hall on 01782 233195 or visit the website stoke.gov.uk/museum.
