William Blake School`s Project
The year 2010 is the centenary of the Federation of Stoke on Trent. To celebrate, year four pupils from Clarice Cliff Primary School have been working with the Education Team on a special art and history project. They have created art inspired by Victorian/Edwardian photographer William Blake who took photographs of their home town of Longton. They photographed and sketched the places where Blake took his photographs one hundred years ago, to document what they look like today. Working together they used their sketches, photographs and imagination to create two giant townscape collages of Longton.
The collages will be displayed in their entirety in a special exhibition in October 2010. You can have a sneak peek of parts of the collages by clicking on the William Blake images below.
