Stoke Cult Film Club

Every month on a Friday evening the club will be screening cult films from throughout cinema history giving film fans a chance to see timeless classics and to meet and chat with fellow enthusiasts. The bar will be open during our extended interlude serving a range of drinks and exotic cocktails! Tickets £5, bar opens at 6pm with the film screening at 7pm.

Underworld

Friday 4 October

This 2003 action horror film with a huge cult following was directed by Len Wiseman and written by Danny McBride starring Kate Beckinsale and Bill Nighy. It is the first in the series of 5 films and is a dark gothic movie with powerful imagery, set in modern times which narrate the secret, century’s old battle between Vampires and Lycans (Werewolves).

Quadrophenia

Friday 8 November

A 1979 British movie directed by Franc Roddam which is set in 1964 during the height of the rivalry between gangs of scooter riding mods and bike riding rockers. It follows Jimmy (Phil Daniels) a London based mod and his eventful weekend in Brighton; it also marks the acting debut of Sting and stars Leslie Ash. November marks the 40th anniversary of its UK screening.

Die Hard

Die Hard is a 1988 action movie directed by John McTiernan.  It’s Christmas Eve and NYPD detective John McClane (Bruce Willis) arrives at the Nakatomi Plaza in New York to find that 12 heavily armed terrorists led by Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) have taken control of the building and are holding the staff including his estranged wife hostage…..
