- Additional Notes: These finds were recovered from a waste tip in Fenton, excavated between 1979 and 1981. The tip had a proven association with William Greatbatch and the excavation allowed for the identification of many previously unattributed vessels. It also gave a detailed insight into the changes that occurred within a single factory during an important period in the history of The Potteries.
- Additional Notes: This object was recovered from Phase II, the second of three physically separate layers. Phase II was dated between c.1765-1770. It had been tipped in the marl hole from the west with layers trailing off to the east. The phase was covered by a brown, organic layer which suggests the tip was disused for a period of time before Phase III was also tipped in from the west.
- Additional Notes: Phase II represented more of the coloured glazes and moulded forms of the rococo style which give way to the Neo-classical style in Phase III. However, some pottery types were common to all three phases ? particularly moulded fruitwares in forms such as cauliflower and pineapple. Moulded details suggest that wares from all three phases were produced from the same range of block moulds.
