At Gladstone Pottery Museum you can see and speak to skilled craftspeople as they work transforming clay into pots, flowers, animals and much more.

There are daily demonstrations of bone china flower making, pot throwing and hand painting on to pottery at the museum. From Monday to Friday you can also see a caster at work using liquid clay to make moulded figures. Many of our skilled demonstration staff have decades of experience in the pottery industry and they also highly knowledgeable about conditions and working practices in the Victorian Gladstone China factory.

Get involved and discover more with our have-a-go activities. Every day you can try your hand at pottery skills and create your own masterpiece to take home as a reminder of your visit. Choose from throwing a pot, making a bone-china flower or painting a piece of pottery – or give them all a whirl! Prices start at £1 plus admission.
