- Additional Notes: The tea bowl is free formed to fit in the hands during the tea ceremony and the top is uneven to aid drinking. Raku became the family name of a ceramic dynasty founded by Chojiro, founded when the potter made a tea bowl which met the tea aesthetics advocated by Sen Rikyu, the leading tea master of the time. Raku is also a term used for wares made by a wide variety of amateur and professional potters in the tea community.
